The custom software provider HyPlus has acquired the Romanian company Sinapsys Nearshore SRL. With this acquisition, the HyPlus Group now has an additional nearshore location in Romania, in addition to its existing sites in Poland, Lithuania, and India. The goal is to further expand the Group’s capabilities for both existing and new customers through these additional nearshore capacities and targeted enhancements to its service and technology portfolio.

Sinapsys, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and comprising a team of more than 40 employees, is an IT solutions provider specializing in software development and managed services. Following its founding in 2021, Sinapsys will become a full-fledged member of the HyPlus Group through this acquisition.

As a specialist in custom software, the HyPlus Group helps clients from a variety of industries—including the automotive, retail, financial, and insurance sectors, as well as public sector clients—to drive digital transformation through customized software solutions. The company’s more than 900 employees work at multiple locations in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, India, and now Romania as well.

The HyPlus Group’s broad portfolio of solutions and technologies—which focuses on software development, consulting, and data analytics—is being expanded through the acquisition of Sinapsys to include highly sought-after expertise in areas such as mainframe COBOL development. In addition, the addition of Sinapsys provides access to an attractive market for highly skilled IT talent with proficiency in both German and English.

The acquisition thus represents another important step toward further strengthening the Group’s existing technological capabilities. Having ranked 16th among Germany’s leading mid-sized IT consulting and systems integration companies right from the start—its first attempt since its founding (source: Lünendonk List 2024)—the HyPlus Group is now further enhancing its competitiveness through these additional shoring capabilities.

The Sinapsys management team, led by co-founder Titus Mic, will remain with the company and, together with the management of the HyPlus Group, continue the group’s success story.
